GOODYEAR SKI CLUB Akron, OH
|

General Information-Contact Person
The Goodyear Ski Club participates in the Cleveland Metro Ski Council (CMSC) sponsored race program. This
program has three major divisions: An adult Weekend Series, an adult Wednesday Night Series, and a Kid’s Racing
division. Goodyear Ski Club currently has participants in the two adult divisions.
Anyone desiring further information or has a desire to participate may contact the Goodyear Ski Club race chair:
Larry Hall at 330-923-4620 or e-mail at: larrybspl@peoplepc.com
Qualification to Race
The adult participant must be at least 18 years old and be a member of the Goodyear Ski Club. Any member may
race regardless of skiing or snowboarding ability. The program has twenty-four race classes (race groups) where
any skier or snowboarder can be competitive. You compete with other racers of your skill level only.
If you are new to racing or did not race the previous season, your competitive class is determined for the Weekend
Series by participating in the late December “Qualification Race” at the Boston Mills Ski Area. For the
Wednesday Night Series your first Wednesday race is used to determine your race class. Experienced members of
the race committee judge your skiing or snowboarding skill level. Based on their judgment you are then assigned a
“class”. You may also ‘qualify’ (be judged for class) at most race events during the season.
Weekend Race Events and Race Schedule
This is a formalized program with racing mostly at near western New York Ski/Snowboarding Areas. It includes
‘after race’ and end of season banquet and awards.

Kids Racing Program
“For Skiers and Snowboarders age 4-17 who are children of a Cleveland Metro Ski Council Ski Club
member. Kids are encouraged to participate regardless of their skiing, snowboarding or racing
abilities.” Kids compete in a group according to ability.
