Tim’s Spring Wildflower Walk – Hubbard Valley Park (Medina County)
When: Saturday, May 4, 2024 Picnic at 12:15 pm Hike at 1:00 pm
Where: Hubbard Valley Park, 8600 Hubbard Valley Rd., Seville, OH
What we will see and do: Hubbard Valley is a Medina County Park, and it is a great spot for spring wildflowers. We have been to Hubbard Valley before, but this year’s hike will be bigger and better! After the Hubbard Valley hike, we will take a short drive to River Styx Park (8200 River Styx Rd., Wadsworth). River Styx is also a Medina County Park, and we will find an excellent display of wildflowers there. The terrain at River Styx is different than Hubbard Valley, so we should see some different wildflowers. The trail length at Hubbard Valley is 1.5 miles and the trail length at River Styx is 1.0 mile. Restrooms and picnic tables are available at both parks. We will meet at Hubbard Valley Park. The hike starts at 1:00 pm.
Bring a lunch and join us for a pre-hike picnic at 12:15. After the hike, we will go to Wadsworth for gelato and/or coffee at Dolce at the Strand (123 Broad St. Wadsworth, OH) .
Directions to Hubbard Valley Park:
– Take I-76 West past Wadsworth to the Rt. 57 exit. Turn right on Rt. 57 (toward Medina). In about 1 mile, turn left onto Blake Rd. Continue for about 4 miles on Blake Rd. to Hubbard Valley Rd. Turn left onto Hubbard Valley. The park entrance will be on your right in 0.4 miles.
